Account Manager
About the role
As an Account Manager at forpeople, you'll play a central role in delivering exceptional creative work for our clients – from global market leaders to ambitious start-ups across industries including FMCG, hospitality, wellness and technology.
You'll partner with our Account Directors to take ownership of projects and defined account workstreams, building strong client relationships and bringing together multidisciplinary teams to deliver brilliant work.
We're looking for a proactive account handler with experience in a creative agency or consultancy. Someone who brings structure and momentum, communicates confidently and creates the conditions for our teams to do their best work.
What your day might look like:
Leading the day-to-day client relationship across designated projects and account workstreams
Working with creative and strategy leads to define project approaches, teams, timings and deliverables
Writing and presenting clear, commercially viable project proposals
Managing client feedback, expectations and approvals while protecting the ambition of the work
Taking commercial responsibility for your projects, including budgets, tracking, forecasting, invoicing and profitability reporting
Managing scope proactively, identifying changes early and ensuring these are agreed with clients
Anticipating project risks and resolving issues quickly, escalating where senior input is needed
Identifying opportunities for further work and sharing these with the wider account team
Contributing to proposals, pitches and client workshops
Who we'd like to find
Since 2004, we’ve grown from only four to over a hundred by finding the right people – people that don’t only slot right in to our studio culture, but bring something incredible to it.
This role calls for someone who brings:
Client partnership — You build strong working relationships and are confident leading day-to-day client conversations. You communicate clearly, manage expectations well and understand how to balance the needs of the client, the project and the team.
Project ownership — You can independently take a project from brief through to delivery. You bring structure and momentum, keep multiple moving parts aligned and take responsibility for making sure things happen.
Commercial thinking — You understand that brilliant work also needs to work commercially. You're comfortable developing scopes and proposals, managing budgets and tracking project performance.
Creative delivery — You have a genuine interest in the creative work and understand the role Client Services plays in enabling it. You partner well with creative teams, manage feedback thoughtfully and help protect the ambition of the project.
Proactivity & judgement — You think ahead rather than simply reacting. You anticipate what needs to happen next, solve problems early and know when to make a decision yourself and when senior input will help.
Specifically, you'll have:
Previous Client Services or project management experience within a creative consultancy or design agency
Experience managing creative projects from brief through to delivery
Confidence managing day-to-day client relationships
Experience developing project approaches and commercially viable proposals
Commercial acumen, including experience managing budgets, scope, forecasting and profitability
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at once
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
Diligence and attention to detail for all aspects of your work
Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to work effectively across client and multidisciplinary internal teams
A genuine passion for design and creativity
The right to work in the UK
